Actor Zaira Wasim has quashed rumours that her social media accounts have been hacked. She issued a statement on Twitter that read, “This (is) to clarify that none of my social media accounts were or are hacked and are being handled by me personally. Kindly refrain from believing or sharing claims that state otherwise!”
On Monday, 1 July, reports that Zaira’s manager had given a statement saying that her account had been hacked began doing the rounds. They claimed that he had said that her post announcing her quitting films had not been written by her.
Zaira Wasim’s manager, Tuhin Mishra, has also rubbished these claims. He told ANI, “We never said that her account was hacked. We just said that we would definitely like to know what has happened. And the post was done by her.”
On Sunday, 30 June, Zaira had taken to Instagram to announce her decision to quit Bollywood. She stated in a detailed note that she was not happy with her line of work as it interfered with her faith and religion.
The Kashmiri-born star, who debuted five years ago, in the Aamir Khan-starrer Dangal said she realised “though I may fit here perfectly, I do not belong here.” She won the National Award for the Best Supporting Actress for her performance in the film in 2017. The 18-year-old actor has already shot for Shonali Bose’s The Sky Is Pink, which also stars Priyanka Chopra and Farhan Akhtar and is set to release on 11 October.
