Priyanka Chopra arrived at the Met Gala 2019, the annual benefit event for the Costume Institute at the Metropolitan Museum of Art (Met), in a dramatic silver gown with feathered embellishments, a sheer corset and a silver crown which she paired with dramatic make-up with frosted brows and lashes and raspberry eyeshadow.
Twitter, of course, took notice. Some couldn’t help but point out that PeeCee seemed to be channelling a sort of high fashion Mad Hatter.
One Twitter user thought she resembled the Queen of Hearts from Alice in Wonderland.
Others took a more desi approach.
A few Twitter users were also quick to point out that Nick bore an odd resemblance to Peter Baelish, aka Littlefinger from Game of Thrones.
The Met Gala 2019 in New York, which took place on 6 May, saw a host of Hollywood celebs pose in their extravagant best. Lady Gaga, Kim Kardashian, Ezra Miller, Katy Perry, Gal Gadot, Lupita Nyong’o and Nicki Minaj were among those on the exclusive guest list. This year’s theme was Camp: Notes on Fashion, inspired by photographer Susan Sontag’s 1964 essay ‘Notes on Camp’.
