Soni Razdan’s film No Fathers in Kashmir will finally hit theatres on 5 April after much controversy over its film certification. The film is a love story between two teenagers who have each lost their fathers, set in Kashmir.
In a recent interview, the actor got candid about her the flak that she receives from trolls who lash out at her and call her ‘anti-national’ whenever she makes a statement about Kashmir and the conflict between India and Pakistan over the region.
She told Navbharat Times,
“When I talk like this, people start calling me anti-national and want to send me to Pakistan. Sometimes I wonder, I should really go to Pakistan. I’ll be happy there. The food is also good there. Here, people are after me and want to banish me to Pakistan. However, there are so many people who share the same thoughts as me, so it hardly makes any difference to me what people have to say.”Soni Razdan, Actor
After No Fathers in Kashmir was submitted to the Central Board of Certification (CBFC) in July 2018, the board passed the film and rated it A in October. The filmmakers were unhappy since they claimed it did not contain any mature content and was made for a universal audience. The Ashvin Kumar directorial finally received a U/A certification from the Film Certification Appellate Tribunal (FCAT) in March.
