Taapsee Confirms Mithali Raj’s Biopic on Former Captain’s B’Day 

The actor is gearing up for Mithali Raj’s biopic.

Taapsee Pannu has always impressed us with her unconventional roles. She was last seen essaying the role of sharpshooter Prakashi Tomar in Saand Ki Aankh. Now, the actor has already announced her next project, that too on a special day. On former India women’s cricket team captain Mithali Raj’s birthday, Taapsee took to social media to share a few photographs with Raj. She also wrote a heartfelt message declaring that she will play the role of the cricketer in her upcoming biopic titled Shabaash Mithu.

“Happy Happy Birthday Captain @mithaliraj ! You have made all of us proud in more than many ways and it’s truly an honour to be chosen to showcase your journey on screen. On this Birthday of yours I don’t know what gift I can give you but this promise that I shall give it all I have to make sure you will be proud of what you see of yourself on screen with #ShabaashMithu P.S- I am all prepared to learn THE ‘cover drive’ #HappyBirthdayCaptain,” Taapsee wrote on Instagram.

The photos show Mithali cutting a cake and Taapsee gifting her a rose. The actor also said that she is all prepared to learn the ‘cover drive’ from Mithali.

Shabaash Mithu will be helmed by Raees director Rahul Dholakia and written by Priya Aven. The movie is set to go on floors in 2020.

Taapsee is also working on two other films, Rashmi Rocket and Thappad.
