It’s Gandhi Jayanti today, and Bollywood celebrities have taken to social media to send greetings. Amitabh Bachchan took this special occasion to announce the release of the book, The Swachh Bharat Revolution. This book is a compendium of essays - with names such as Arun Jaitley, Amitabh Kant, Ratan Tata, Sadhguru, Amitabh Bachchan, Akshay Kumar, Tavleen Singh, Bill Gates and many more, along with a message from Prime Minister Modi - that celebrates a historic national achievement. Amitabh also said that the essay written by him is close to his heart.

“T 3305 - Capturing the inspiring journey of India’s five year quest for Swachhata - our book ’The Swachh Bharat Revolution’ is out. My chapter is one close to me as we dedicate a #SwachhBharat to Bapu. A must read,” the actor tweeted.


Salman Khan also had a message on this day. The actor took to Instagram to ask his fans to focus on fit India and also to keep the country clean because in his words, “Swachh Bharat, Swachh Bharatiya and ‘Fit India, Fit Indians.”

Anil Kapoor and Madhuri Dixit, too remembered the teachings of Mahatma Gandhi on this day. “Remembering Mahatma Gandhi ji’s teachings on his 150th birth anniversary. #GandhiJayanti.”

“Paying my humble tribute to Gandhi ji who moved the world with kindness and compassion. May his teachings stay with us through generations! #GandhiJayanti,” tweeted Madhuri. Ritesh Batra also remembered Bapu’s teachings.
