Bollywood celebrities like Kangana Ranaut, Twinkle Khanna have always had a strong opinion on politics. Now, Ranvir Shorey is the latest to join the bandwagon. He has asked Rahul Gandhi, leader of Indian National Congress, and his family to quit politics so that New India can be built.

The comment was triggered by a remark made by Rahul Gandhi. He shared photos from the Army Dog Unit where the dogs were receiving training alongside the Army personnel. Gandhi captioned the two photos as 'New India'. Ranvir Shorey replied to the same on his Twitter page by writing 'Hate much?'

Shorey did not stop at that. He also went on to write, “‘New India’ will actually be realised when you and your family quit politics.”

The actor also got into a war of words with a Congress supporter who said that since his films weren’t working, he is trying to steal the limelight this way. Ranvir replied, “The joke is that the Congress party is reduced to clowns like you who worship one dynasty”.

Before the elections also Ranvir Shorey had released a video speaking in support of the BJP. “"I believe (ask), have the problems we are facing today, come into existence recently? Was our country on the right path five years back? Were there no riots then? Weren't the poor killed in the name of caste and religion? Wasn't there hunger and poverty," he had questioned, adding, “It is unfair to blame a government which came into ruling only five years back for all these problems. One cannot solve such huge problems of a densely populated country in a span of five years.”

The actor had also said that the party who could not improve the condition of the country in 60 years should not speak about justice. “Is it fair that a family would rule a country over generations? These people, living in palaces, who have ruled our country over four generations, now talk about hatred. How would they know about the rage that comes after being treated with injustice and poverty?”

On the work front, Ranvir Shorey will be seen in the second season of Sacred Games.
