On 18 September, Ranveer Singh was awarded with an IIFA award in Mumbai. The actor was awarded for his phenomenal performance in Padmaavat, which also starred his wife Deepika Padukone and actor Priyanka Chopra.
In the thank you speech that followed, Ranveer, as usual, couldn’t stop gushing over his wife Deepika. And that’s also when he took the opportunity to announce that he’s going to be the next celebrity to be getting an wax statue in London’s popular Madame Tussauds.
He concluded with, “There’s going to be me and you, baby. Husband and wife. Madame Tussauds. London. Boom Baby.”
In a video clip from the award function that has surfaced online, Ranveer says, “My mother-in-law was like ‘come on, now you have to work hard if you also want a statue of you in London.’ Mama, we’re going to London. I’ll see you.”
“Let me just add that my wife’s statue is the sexiest of all. It is one of the best statues in all of Madame Tussauds. I took an entire tour and hers is the best one. Okay, I am partial but it’s cool. But baby, you and Morgan Freeman had the best wax statues,” Ranveer added.
During the speech, Ranveer also mentioned that Deepika was quite the perfectionist and devoted much time and attention to getting her wax statue just right. He concluded with, “There’s going to be me and you, baby. Husband and wife. Madame Tussauds. London. Boom Baby.”
Both Ranveer and Deepika looked their best at IIFA. While Ranveer sported a striking grey pant suit, with a hint of red, Deepika looked like a total princess in her purple ruffled gown.
Ranveer shared his look on Instagram. He wont the Best Actor award for leading role for his performance in Padmaavat.
Deepika also shared her look with the caption, “I purple you.”
