Kangana Ranaut’s sister, Rangoli Ranaut delivered a baby boy on November 16. Prithvi Raj Chandel is now 13 days old and social media got a chance to virtually witness a local ceremony called Gantryala in Himachal Pradesh as a part of the celebrations. If one were to go by his name, it makes him sound wiser than his age!
Rangoli took to Twitter to share some photos of the tiny tot.
The pictures indicate an intimate and rustic celebration. Kangana was nowhere to be seen but one could attribute the absence to her recent injury on the sets of Manikarnika: The Queen of Jhansi.
The Gantryala is observed to celebrate the birth of a new family member and pray for his/her long, healthy life. Women folk from the family gather to sing local songs that shower praises on the mother for taking care of herself and enduring hardships during the gruelling phase of pregnancy and delivering a baby. It is a celebration of the womb and the new life, replete with scrumptious delicacies to celebrate the joyous occasion.
