The Star Screen Awards 2019 were held in Mumbai on Sunday night and Alia Bhatt (for Gully Boy) and Ayushmann Khurrana (for Bala and Article 15) walked away with the top honours of the year. However, a video of Alia Bhatt walking away with her Best Actor (Female) trophy, before the show actually began, started doing the rounds on social media from Sunday night.

In the video, she is exiting from the ‘back door’ and is being clicked with her trophy. Someone from her team is heard asking the photographers to publish the photos only after 8 pm. Kangana Ranaut’s sister, Rangoli Chandel took up the video to talk about nepotism and fixing at award shows.

Rangoli, later, cleared her stand about sharing the video and tweeted that she doesn’t have a problem with award fixing, but with Alia getting the award for a ‘10 mins mediocre role’ in a film. She wrote, “Award fixing is not my problem that we all know, for 10 mins mediocre role in a film where every other actor shined in a year Manikarnika Queen of Jhansi and JHK came.... look at the conviction of accepting the award.”

Rangoli also pointed at Uri: The Surgical Strike being ‘snubbed’ at the award show and not getting its deserved awards. In a series of tweets, she wrote, “Uri is clearly the most popular film of this year and Gully Boy critically acclaimed film, still Gully gets most popular awards and Uri is snubbed #Nepogang.”

Kaise neend aati hai raat ko, dusaron ka haq maar ke, kya kehte ho khud ko jab nazar milate ho aaine mein, humein bhi batado, humein to sach ne loot liya (How do you sleep peacefully, after depriving someone of their right? Let us also know, how you face yourself after this?),” she added.

At the Star Screen Awards held in Mumbai, the Best Film (Critics Choice) went to Article 15 while the Best Film (Popular) was won by Gully Boy.
