Rumours have been doing the rounds about internet sensation, Priya Prakash Varrier landing a role in Ranveer Singh's Simmba, which is directed by Rohit Shetty and produced by Karan Johar’s Dharma Productions.
It would mark her Bollywood debut. When The Quint reached out to sources close to Dharma Productions, they rubbished the reports. The makers of Simmba denied the casting of Priya Varrier in Ranveer’s film.
According to reports, Priya had claimed to be a major fan of Ranveer Singh. Priya took the internet by storm with her expressive face, and sent viral waves in a song, Manikya Malaraya Poovi from the film, Oru Adaar Love. Her overnight success got her an enormous fan following on her official Instagram account. Priya has over 5 million followers (and counting) since the viral “wink”.
But will her popularity on the internet help her win a ticket to Bollywood?
