Rishi Kapoor has seen a string of famous visitors ever since he temporarily moved to the US to undergo treatment for cancer. The latest celeb to drop by has been former Indian skipper Kapil Dev. Neetu Kapoor posted a picture of the three posing together on Instagram. She also mentioned that they were “super charged about the world cup”, so will we see the couple cheer India on in the 2019 Cricket World Cup match opposite Sri Lanka on 6 July?
The trailer for Rishi Kapoor’s latest film Jhootha Kahin Ka recently dropped. Scheduled to release in theatres on 19 July, it will be the actor’s first film to release in theatres after he took a hiatus last September to undergo treatment for cancer. The film is about two boys, played by Sunny Singh and Omkar Kapoor, who go to Mauritius to study and love it so much, they are reluctant to come back home. Rishi Kapoor plays Omkar’s father, who turns up to surprise the boys only to catch them in a web of lies. Rishi Kapoor was last seen in Leena Yadav’s Rajma Chawal, which released on Netflix in October last year.
In May this year, Rishi told Deccan Chronicle that he was “cancer-free”, and in June, he mentioned to Mumbai Mirror that he was “recovering well” and would try and return to India by the end of August.
Ranveer Singh is set to play the reel version of Kapil Dev in sports drama 83, which is based on India’s historical win at the 1983 Cricket World Cup. Deepika Padukone will play Kapil Dev’s wife Romi Bhatia in the film which also stars Pankaj Tripathi, Saqib Saleem, Tahir Bhasin, Ammy Virk and Saahil Khattar. The film releases on 10 April 2020.
