US Pop star Miley Cyrus and Australian The Hunger Games actor Liam Hemsworth have split just seven months after they tied the knot.
The on-again, off-again couple married in a private ceremony in December last year. The couple first started dating in 2010 after meeting on the sets of Nicholas Sparks film The Last Song.
A representative of the ‘Party in the USA’ singer confirmed the news to People magazine.
“Liam and Miley have agreed to separate at this time. Ever-evolving, changing as partners and individuals, they have decided this is what’s best while they both focus on themselves and careers.”Representative
"They still remain dedicated parents to all of their animals they share while lovingly taking this time apart. Please respect their process and privacy" the representative said in a statement.
Now, Liam took to Instagram to confirm that he and Miley Cyrus have indeed split up but he will not be making any official comment.
He wrote, “Hi all. Just a quick note to say that Miley and I have recently separated and I wish her nothing but health and happiness going forward. This is a private matter and I have not made, nor will I be making, any comments to any journalists or media outlets. Any reported quotes attributed to me are false. Peace and Love.”
Rumors of Miley, 26, and Liam, 29, parting ways started doing the rounds on Saturday, 10 August after the singer posted a series of photos of herself on Instagram in which she was not wearing her wedding ring. “Mute me if you don’t want SPAMMED” Miley wrote on the 9th post in a few hours.
Miley and Liam had exchanged vows on 23 December 2018 at their home in Franklin, Tennessee surrounded by close friends and family, including Liam’s elder brother, Avengers-star and Thor himself Chris Hemsworth.
Miley is gearing up for the release of her new album She is Miley Cyrus. She also featured in an episode of the latest season of Netflix’s popular series Black Mirror. Liam was seen in the rom-com Isn’t It Romantic which also starred Priyanka Chopra.
