Vijay Verma, Sunny Kaushal Roped In for Romantic Drama 'Hurdang'

Gully Boy actor Vijay Verma has been cast in upcoming romantic drama Hurdang. The film will be directed by Nikhil Bhatt and produced by Shaailesh R Singh, who has backed titles such as Mental Hai Kya and Tanu Weds Manu. It also stars Sunny Kaushal and Nushrat Bharucha.

The story is set in Prayagraj and follows the anti-reservation protests that broke out in the city in 1990. Director Nikhil Bhatt said in a statement, “This is a story inspired by true incidents. In the year 1990, as a kid, I saw thousands of youngsters getting involved in the fight for their rights, the students fought for two whole years. They were angry for being taken for granted and for two years the students’ lives came to a standstill. They say, love stories coming out of duress stall tall. Hurdang is a love story set in these times.”

Last week, Kashyap announced that he was starting a new company and working on a new film.

"Yes I am currently shooting for the film. It has still not sunk in that I am in an Anurag Kashyap film," Saiyami said in a statement.

"It is an under-statement to say that I am extremely excited to be a part of this project. I can't really talk too much about the film right now," she added.

The film will be shot in Mumbai within three months.

Saiyami, who made her debut with "Mirzya", will also make her digital debut with the second season of "Breathe".
