Lara Dutta was crowned Miss Universe in the year 2000, and along with her Dia Mirza and Priyanka Chopra too bagged international titles that year. While Dia was crowned Miss Asia Pacific, Priyanka won the title of Miss World.
On Saturday, nearly 20 years after the three were crowned, Lara Dutta got nostalgic about the memory an posted a picture of the three on Instagram from their pageant days. Not only this, the picture had the beauty queen’s current photographs as well, giving it a ‘then and now’ twist.
Lara revealed that she had posted the throwback picture some time ago and one of her fans made this collage, and she loved it so much that she re-posted the same. “I had posted the above picture a while ago but came across this edit on #instagram and really loved it! THEN & NOW! Coming up to 20 years you guys @diamirzaofficial @priyankachopra !!!!! I love you both loads!!! So happy we’ll always have this that ties us together! One for the Motherland,” she wrote.
Her fellow pageant winners, Priyanka and Dia replied to the post in the sweetest way. While Dia wrote, “Love you so much”, PeeCee commented, “OMG! I love this.. and both you amazing women! I admired u then and I admire u even now! Much love always . @larabhupathi @diamirzaofficial.”
After winning the titles, the three went on to make their mark in Bollywood and successfully so. Priyanka will be seen next in Shonali Bose’s The Sky is Pink, opposite Farhan Akhtar, co-starring Rohit Saraf and Zaira Wasim.
