Karan Johar and Kajol have been close friends for a long time, and their camaraderie was more than evident at a recent episode of The Kapil Sharma Show. The two friends had a great time, and Karan Johar also revealed that Kajol had a huge crush on Akshay Kumar.
Speaking about the premiere of Henna, Karan Johar said, “I met Kajol at the premiere of Henna and she was looking for Akshay the whole time. I also joined her in hunting for him, but unfortunately Akshay Kumar did not turn up at the party. However, we started bonding from that time onwards.” Karan also added that since both of them stayed in South Bombay, their friendship grew with time. Kajol and Akshay Kumar had worked together in Yeh Dillagi.
Karan Johar teased Kajol, saying that she always fails to wish him on his birthday. “She will always wish me a day before or after, but never on my birthday!”, he laughed. The banter continued, with Kajol recalling how Karan had turned up in a three-piece suit for a filmy party held at a discotheque. “I couldn’t stop myself from laughing out loud because I failed to understand why would someone wear a suit at a casual party,” the actor said.
To which, Karan Johar said that he was only 17-years-old and thought that people dressed elaborately for parties. “Kajol’s mother Tanu aunty (Tanuja) asked us to dance, and Kajol kept laughing. I felt so humiliated that I walked away,” said Karan Johar.
Kajol was last seen onscreen in Helicopter Eela which didn't do well at the box-office. As for Karan Johar, he is gearing up for his next film Takht.
