Sujoy Ghosh has donned both the actor’s and director’s hat. He starred in films such as My Brother Nikhil, Ta Ra Rum Pum, Satyanweshi, and then went on to direct films such as Jhankaar Beats, Aladin, Kahaani, Kahaani 2 and Badla. Recently, in an interview with Rajeev Masand, the actor-cum-director spoke about his favourites from that genre and also said that Kangana Ranaut will do a brilliant job when it comes to directing.
When Rajeev asked him which actor will make a good director, Sujoy Ghosh said, “Once I had gone to narrate a script to Kangana, and I think she would make an amazing director. If I have to put my money on anyone, I would put it on her.”

To which Rajeev said that Kangana Ranaut has already directed a portion of Manikarnika. Sujoy replied, “When you narrate a script to someone, and that person comes back with some feedback, it enriches the experience. You read between the lines, and Kangana was amazing at that.”
Sujoy Ghosh said that among his favourite actor-directors are Clint Eastwood and Mel Gibson. “However, if you look at a broader range, it has to be Ron Howard. I have grown up watching Ron Howard in Happy Days, and then he came a director. He is the most amazing director I have come across”, the director added.
Sujoy Ghosh’s latest film, Badla, received a lot of appreciation. Badla is an official adaptation of the 2017 Spanish film The Invisible Guest, and follows an interaction between a lawyer (Amitabh) and a businesswoman (Taapsee), with the latter insisting that she has been wrongfully framed for the murder of her lover.
