Ajay Devgn and Kajol’s Ishq completed 22 years since its release and success at the box office. To mark the occasion, Ajay took to Twitter to share a poster of the film along with a song lyric from the film.
He tweeted, “Neend churayi meri kisne o sanam? Tuneeeee @itsKajolD #22YearsOfIshq”
What’s most interesting is the response to this tweet. Ajay’s reminiscent tweet was met with a cheeky response from his wife Kajol. Kajol posted a photo of her sleeping on a bed and wrote, “Tumhari neend churake, dekho main kitne chain se soyi hoon (Look how well I am sleeping after robbing you of your sleep) #22YearsOfIshq”
Ishq released in 1997. It starred Ajay Devgn, Kajol, Juhi Chawla and Aamir Khan. Juhi Chawla also took to social media to reminisce the film.
She wrote, “Nostalgia...It travels in many forms, on a song, in a scent or in photographs 22 years of Ishq!! #Ishq #22YearsOfIshq”
Recently, Kajol took to social media to do a AMA. Interestingly, and unsurprisingly, Shah Rukh Khan came up in the interaction when someone asked Kajol if she’d marry SRK instead of Ajay Devgn. The fan asked, “Would you marry SRK if you didn’t meet Ajay? (U said you will answer every question)”
Kajol’s response is not quite what you would expect. She wrote, “Isn’t the man supposed to be proposing.”
Kajol and Ajay Devgn will next be seen together in Tanhaji. The film is slated to release on 10 January 2020. Kajol plays the role of Savitribai Malusare. It also stars Saif Ali Khan.
Set in the 17th century, Tanhaji: The Unsung Warrior is based on the life of Tanhaji Malusare (Ajay), a military leader in the army of Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj. According to legend, he was enlisted by Shivaji to recapture the Kondana fort from the Mughals and managed to do so with the help of his pet monitor lizards. However, he lost his life in the battle – the Battle of Sinhagad – and Shivaji renamed the fort to Sinhagad (Lion Fort) in memory of his commander. Saif Ali Khan plays his rival, Udaybhan Rathod, a Rajput officer appointed by Mughul army chief Jai Singh, working under Aurangzeb.
