As per reports, Priyanka Chopra is expected to arrive in Jodhpur with her in-laws, Denise and Paul Kevin Jonas Sr. to check the wedding preparations. While no official confirmation about wedding dates or the location has been revealed by Nick Jonas and Priyanka Chopra, rumour has it that they’re tying the knot in a lavish destination wedding in Jodhpur’s Taj Umaid Bhawan Palace from 28 November onwards.
#Prick, as fans have been calling the couple, are expected to invite 200 guests for the much-awaited wedding. Deepika and Ranveer’s reception bash in Mumbai would clash with Priyanka and Nick’s wedding, if we’re right about the dates!
But why did the pair choose the Umaid Bhawan Palace?
Built by Maharaja Umaid Singh between 1928 and 1943, the Umaid Bhawan Palace is the home of the former royal family of Jodhpur and is the sixth largest private residence in the world. Sprawled over about 26 acres, the mansion, now partly owned by Taj Hotels, has 22 rooms and 42 suites, along with palm courts, banquet halls, ballrooms, libraries and the whole shebang.
Oh, and did we mention it stands on the highest point of the city, Chittar Hill, and thus commands a spectacular view?
According to Conde Nast Traveller, a palace room at the hotel costs Rs 34,000.
Tariffs can go up to a jaw-dropping Rs 5,00,000 for the grand presidential one-bedroom suite. The hotel reportedly has no rooms available on 1 and 2 December, when the couple is expected to tie the knot.
