A Delhi court on Monday ordered registration of FIR against actor Mithun Chakraborty’s wife Yogeeta Bali and son Mahaakshay on charges of rape, cheating and causing miscarriage without consent.
The Rohini court ordered the police to file a case against Mahaakshay for allegedly cheating and raping a Bhojpuri actor and forcing her into an abortion. Yogita Bali has been accused of allegedly threatening the woman later.
According to Indian Express, Additional Chief Metropolitan Magistrate Ekta Gauba said in her order, “Keeping in view the high and influential status of the respondents — being the son and wife of renowned and veteran actor Mithun Chakraborty — who was not only the Bollywood Superstar of yesteryears, but also former Rajya Sabha MP. The complainant has verbally alleged that her parents are not alive and she has some relatives and friends in Delhi; there is a threat to her life as well as freedom in Mumbai because of the threats issued by the respondents.”
Gauba added, “Considering the fact that the complainant is frightened to enter Mumbai without ant legal protection. Even considering the theats given to the complainant from the respondents who are influential people. This shows that investigation by the police is necessary to unearth the conspiracy and to collect evidence and to secure the presence of the accused.”
According to the court order, the incident happened in May 2015. Mahaakshay allegedly “fraudulently” administered the woman some “alcoholic/stupefying substance” in a soft drink and then seduced her. The complainant has alleged that the actor raped her “continuously” for four years, and then refused to marry her despite several requests. He also administered her medicine for abortion once she became pregnant.
The complainant also said that the actor’s mother, former actor Yogita Bali, later threatened her of dire consequences if she even thought of becoming her daughter-in-law. The woman suffered depression and out of fear, later moved to Delhi.
Mahaakshay, who made his debut in 2008 with Jimmy, has also worked in The Haunted – 3D and The Murderer. He is reportedly set to tie the knot on 7 July 2018.
