Veteran Actor Dinyar Contractor Passes Away at 79

Veteran actor and theatre legend Dinyar Contractor, who appeared in films such as Baadshah and Khiladi, passed away Wednesday morning here. He was 79. According to the family sources, the actor died due to old age related health issues.

On Twitter, Prime Minister Narendra Modi condoled Contractor's death, saying he is "saddened" by the veteran actor's demise. "Padma Shri Dinyar Contractor was special because he spread lots of happiness. His versatile acting brought smiles on several faces. Be it theatre, television or films, he excelled across all mediums. Saddened by his demise. My thoughts are with his family and admirers," PM Modi tweeted, while also sharing a photo of his meeting with Contractor.

Aayush Sharma to Play an Army Officer in Next Film

Aayush Sharma, who made his acting debut with Love Yatri, will next star in an action-drama film, titled Kwatha. The 33-year-old actor will be portraying an army officer in the film.

"It's a huge honour to play an army officer. I'm really looking forward to start shooting for the film," Aayush said in a statement. The film is inspired by true events and will show how few incidents change a man's opinion and perspective on certain things.

Kwatha is produced by Sunil Jain and Aditya Joshi of Cult Entertainment and directed by Karan Lalit Butani. It is most likely to go on floors around September this year and is scheduled to release in 2020.

Crew Member Injured on 'Bond 25' Set

A crew member was injured after a "controlled explosion" on the sets of Bond 25 damaged the film's stage. Filming was underway at the Britain's iconic Pinewood Studios when the incident happened on Tuesday.

The official Twitter handle of James Bond said, "During the filming of a controlled explosion on the set of Bond 25 today at Pinewood Studios, damage was caused to the exterior of the 007 Stage."

"There were no injuries on set, however one crew member outside the stage has sustained a minor injury," it added.

The release of the film was recently pushed to 8 April 2020.

Deepika Wraps Up 'Chhapaak' Shoot

Deepika Padukone has completed the shooting for her upcoming film Chhapaak, based on the life of an acid attack survivor Laxmi Agarwal. She shared a photograph with the cast and crew on social media and wrote: "It's a wrap on the most precious film of my career. Chhapaak."

Her husband and actor Ranveer Singh shared his excitement for the film in a comment that read: "Can't wait to witness the magic."

Directed by Meghna Gulzar, the film will release on 10 January 2020. It also stars Vikrant Massey.

Dhanush to Remake Ayushmann Khurrana-Starrer 'Andhadhun' in Tamil

Dhanush was recently in Mumbai to launch his debut Hollywood film The Extraordinary Journey of the Fakir. He admitted that he is keen to remake the immensely successful Ayushmann Khurrana-starrer Andhadhun. He told Mumbai Mirror that it is a brilliant film and he would not mind remaking the thriller in Tamil. “We have already started the process of acquiring the rights of the film”, he said.
