At the trailer launch of her new film Laila Majnu, producer Ekta Kapoor praised Gold actor Mouni Roy and was proud of the fact she was able to give a break to many newcomers.

Ekta added that she was proud of of Mouni’s success and the fact that she is associated with it.

Mouni made her TV debut in Ekta’s show Kyunki Saas Bhi Kabhi Bahu Thi. She went on to star in the extremely popular supernatural series Naagin, also produced by Ekta. On 15 August, Mouni will star in her first major Bollywood film, Reema Kagti’s Gold opposite Akshay Kumar.
Among her upcoming projects, Mouni has Ayan Mukerji’s Brahmastra alongside Ranbir Kapoor, Alia Bhatt and Amitabh Bachchan. She will also be opposite John Abraham in RAW: Romeo Akbar Walter and opposite Rajkummar Rao in Made in China. Though Mouni has stepped back from Naagin, she will be a part of Ekta’s upcoming web-series.
