As per an Indian Express report, a source revealed, “Although Disha’s delivery date was sometime in the third week of December, she delivered the baby today morning. Both mom and daughter are doing well and would be discharged from the hospital soon. Disha is yet to decide when she would be back to work but as of now she wants to spend time with her bundle of joy.”

Taarak Mehta Ka Ooltah Chashmah has been on air on SAB TV since 2009 and is based on the column Duniye Ne Oondha Chashma written by columnist and journalist Taarak Mehta who passed away earlier this year.

Rumour mills were abuzz earlier this year that the 39-year-old would be replaced on the show on account of her pregnancy. But the makers did not go ahead with the decision since the show gains immensely from her popularity. One of the highest ranked shows, the producer Asit Kumarr Modi admitted that the makers would not change anything about the show and that they were ready to adjust and work on a track around her absence.
