Deepika’s Leaked Scene, ‘Chhapaak’ Producers to Take Legal Action

In the much-awaited upcoming film Chhapaak, Deepika Padukone plays acid attack victim Lazmi Agarwal. The film also features co-star Vikrant Massey. Ever since the two have started shooting for the film, several photos and videos from the shoot have been leaked online.

Recently, a video of Deepika and Vikrant kissing on the roof of a building went viral on the internet and was shared by several media publications. Before that, another video from the sets had leaked and gone viral. The video gave us a glimpse of Deepika’s character as a young girl as she is donning a school uniform. These videos were shared by several fan accounts of Instagram and other social media.

Considering the advent of technology and particularly, smartphones that has taken over the world in the recent past, keeping things under a wrap has certainly gotten difficult. However, the producers of Chhapaak are going to take actions to clamp down this illegal sharing of scenes from the film. According to sources, the producers might be taking strict action which includes serving legal notice to all parties who have shared the leaked video from the sets of Chhapaak.

On 26 March, Deepika took to Twitter to share the first look of her character from the film. “A character that will stay with me forever...#Malti," the actor wrote. Laxmi was attacked in 2005 when she was 15 years old by a 32-year-old man named Gudda and his alias Nadeem Syed whose advances she had rejected.

Chhapaak is slated to release on 10 January, 2020. Directed by Meghna Gulzar, Chhapaak , based on Laxmi Agarwal, is slated to release on January 10, 2020. Talking about Vikrant Massey’s character, Gulzar had shared: "He's a north Indian man who used to be a professional but decides to leave it all and become an actor. And then starts this campaign against acid attack violence. I'm glad Vikrant is a part of the film and I think I can speak for both Deepika and me that we're really excited that he's playing this part."

Chhapaak will be clashing with Ajay Devgn starrer Tanhaji: The Unsung Warrior at the box office.
