You’re Unstoppable: Deepika Reacts to Ranveer’s ‘Gully Boy’ Teaser
Ranveer Singh announced the arrival of the trailer of his upcoming movie Gully Boy on 9 January with ‘asli hip hop’ swag.
The actor treated his fans to a one-minute video in which he can be seen and heard rapping. Deepika Padukone reacted to the video on social media saying that she was proud and lauded Ranveer for being unstoppable. The power pair tied the knot in November last year (2018) in an intimate wedding in Italy and have been setting couple goals since.
Also featuring actors Alia Bhatt and Kalki Koechlin in pivotal roles, the Zoya Akhtar directorial Gully Boy is a film about Indian street rappers and their struggles. Drawing inspiration from the lives of rappers Divine and Naezy, Ranveer is essaying the character of an underground rapper.
"It is a very special story, one that I am closely attached to. It is set against the backdrop of flourishing desi hip hop scene coming out of Bombay (Mumbai). It is the story which represents Mumbai in its true sense and the city is my home town, these are my people, this is my language, so this is the story I am really attached to. It's an underdog story about a kid who broke through from great adversity in life to make it as a recording artiste," Ranveer earlier said.
Gully Boy is scheduled to release on 14 February.
