How time flies! It’s been just over a month since Deepika Padukone and Ranveer Singh got hitched but the couple can’t escape questions about their wedding and multiple reception. In a new interview, Deepika has spilled the beans on one major mystery: why was ex-boyfriend Ranbir not present at her big Bollywood bash?
Everyone who’s someone in Bollywood was present at her Mumbai reception from Amitabh Bachchan to Shah Rukh Khan, Katrina Kaif, Anushka Sharma you name it. But one power couple who skipped the whole affair were Ranbir and current girlfriend Alia Bhatt.
While it was reported earlier that Ranbir and Alia couldn’t make it because they were shooting for their upcoming film Brahmastra, Deepika seems to feel differently. This is what she had to say.

“We’ve not spoken. I mean, we spoke before the reception but we have not spoken after. But, that’s the relationship we share and that’s the beauty of that relationship; so much is said without saying much at all,” she added.
In the interview, Deepika also clarified her reasons for picking Lake Cuomo in Italy as the wedding venue. One word, it was privacy.
We announced a month before we got married and I’d anyway taken this year off as I needed to replenish emotionally, so it all just worked out. Why outside of India, because privacy was very important for us and somehow when we went around, that place just felt correct.
She also described the whole experience as “magical”.
More than fairytale, I’d say it was magical. It was lovely- the weather was perfect, the sun was beautiful, I think magical is the one word to sum it up.
