Bollywood Pays Tribute to Boxing Champion Mary Kom

Priyanka Chopra played the boxer in her 2014 film ‘Mary Kom’.

After beating Ukraine’s Hanna Okhota, boxer MC Mary Kom won a record sixth gold in the boxing World Championships. Congratulations have been pouring in for the sportsperson from the likes of Amitabh Bachchan, Shekhar Kapur, Anushka Sharma, Anil Kapoor, Arjun Kapoor and Kabir Bedi.

Priyanka Chopra also took to Twitter to express her wishes. “ Wow! Only you could do it!! What an achievement... Congratulations Mary Kom... It's a proud moment for the nation and you are and always will be my inspiration. Here's to magnificent Mary,” she tweeted. The actor essayed the boxer in her 2014 film Mary Kom, which was directed by Omung Kumar and produced by Sanjay Leela Bhansali.
