Adventurer and television presenter Bear Grylls recently had a life-threatening experience on the sets of his show Treasure Island. Treasure Island is Bear Grylls new survival show. While shooting for the show, Grylls was stung by a bee and ended in a fatal situation. Grylls has a severe allergy to bee stings.

However, once the medics got involved, it was all back to normal. Initially, Grylls thought he would be okay and continued filming. However, his deteriorating condition soon became obvious and the doctors rushed to give him an emergency treatment. The 45-year-old reportedly suffered an anaphylactic shock.

“The irony of Bear the survivalist being stung, having the potential of an allergic reaction, and needing to be treated with an EpiPen, was a bizarre moment. That was crazy!” said Mano Shanmug-anathan, a Pacific islander, to The Daily Star.

Bear Grylls suffered from the attack on the first day of the filming schedule. He was in the midst of taking a bunch of adventure enthusiasts to a remote Pacific island. Grylls was given a dose of EpiPen to recover from the venom injected into his body by the bee.

Treasure Islands will feature Bear Grylls taking 12 participants and leaving them to survive on a remote island. The group will have to spend 35 days fending for themselves on the area. There’s also a cash prize up for grabs for whoever makes it!
