Ayushmann Khurrana has been roped in by UNICEF and the Government of India to raise his voice against sexual abuse of children.

An industry insider told Hindustan Times that Ayushmann is very happy to be part of the cause. “Ayushmann wants to do his best to help the government to eradicate crimes against children. He immediately said yes to the proposal to be roped in by UNICEF and the Ministry of Women & Child Development for the latter’s key initiative, the POCSO (The Protection of Children from Sexual Offences) Act, 2012.”

When asked about this, Ayushmann said: “As a socially-conscious citizen, I want to spread the word on matters that need immediate attention. POCSO (The Protection of Children from Sexual Offences) Act is a very important step that the government has taken to make people aware about the protection and legal support that the act offers against child sexual abuse.”
