The Kapil Sharma Show, which made a comeback last December, has always been a pitstop for Bollywood stars looking to promote their upcoming film. While this season has seen the likes of Ranveer Singh and Sara Ali Khan, Varun Dhawan and Alia Bhatt, Ajay Devgn and Tabu, one actor who appears to have been shunned from the show is Arjun Kapoor.

According to sources close to The Kapil Sharma Show, Arjun was supposed to make an appearance to promote his film India’s Most Wanted, but was stonewalled thanks to Salman Khan, whose production house Salman Khan Television is involved in the show.

The reason, sources claim, is Arjun’s reported relationship with Malaika Arora. Malaika was married to Salman’s brother Arbaaz Khan for 18 years and has two children with him. The couple parted ways in 2014.

While neither have publicly acknowledged their relationship, Malaika and Arjun are often spotted around town by paps and Malaika has been a regular at parties at Maheep and Sanjay Kapoor’s house. The couple were rumoured to tie the knot in a Christian wedding in April, but these were quashed by Boney Kapoor who told Amar Ujala, “There is absolutely no truth to these rumours.”

India’s Most Wanted has been directed by Raj Kumar Gupta, who was behind superhit Raid. The film is inspired by true events and reportedly based on the capture of Yasin Bhatkal, one of the founders of the Indian Mujahideen. It releases in theatres on 24 May.
