Trust netizens to put two and two together. The fact that Anushka Sharma has not signed a film after Aanand L. Rai’s Zero has sent rumour mills into overdrive. Some websites have been carrying speculative reports of Anushka Sharma expecting a child. The Zero actor has rubbished the rumours in an interview with Hindustan Times (HT Cafe), calling them silly and questioning how something like this can stay hidden.
“That is something people will do anyway...you can hide a marriage but not pregnancy. I feel every female actor goes through it, so people marry you off even before you are hitched and make you a mother before you are pregnant. I don’t pay attention to it, and just laugh these things off since I find them hilarious. When I read about such stuff, I think, ‘where do such absurd things come from?’ Right now, I’m literally working round-the-clock”, the actor busted the conjecture.
In another interview to the Times of India she said, “Today, women have children, they go out to do their jobs and come home. Work is part of life and so is marriage and you have to enjoy both. You can’t live in fear, I don’t and I have always done what I wanted to do.” She also said that just because one is married it doesn’t mean that the next step the couple would naturally take is to start a family. The Zero actor added that when the two partners in a couple are busy accomplishing things in their individual lives, their marriage is as normal as can be.
Anushka Sharma and Virat Kohli celebrated their first wedding anniversary on 11 December.
