Last year was a memorable one for Anushka Sharma. She proved her mettle in three films - Pari, Sui Dhaaga and Zero. She has also ventured into production with 2015’s NH10. Possibly that is the reason why the actor is not so keen to sign a new film and is deciding to go slow.
“The past three years have been very demanding for me. To do Pari, Sui Dhaaga and Zero in one year takes a toll on you. The three roles were starkly different from each other and I had to undergo a lot of preparation to get into the skin of the characters. So, now is the time to take a call,” Anushka Sharma told Hindustan Times.
Anushka also said that she is so secure in her career as an actor that she does not need to sign for films just to fill up the time.
She spoke about her role as a producer too. “ Being a producer, I anyway have my hands full. Apart from producing shows for streaming platforms, we have a film in the pipeline too. Those are things that also require my time. As an actor, I am always in the limelight but as a producer people are not privy to the work I do behind the scenes.” Anushka added.
Last year, there were speculations of the actor being pregnant, because of which she is not signing any films. Anushka Sharma had quashed all the rumours. The actress called constant questions about when she is having a baby 'regressive.' “I got married at a young age for a reason. If you are having a baby, it is something that no one can hide. You can still hide a marriage, but not the fact that you are pregnant," said Anushka, who had married Virat Kohli in a private ceremony in Italy.
