Anushka Mourns Demise of B’wood Make-Up Artist Subhash Vagal
He had worked with celebs such as Kareena Kapoor and Tabu as well.
Anushka Sharma took to Instagram to mourn the demise of popular Bollywood make-up artist Subhash Vagal, fondly known as Subbu, who passed away on 6 December. He has worked with several top celebs including Kareena Kapoor and Tabu. The actor shared a heartfelt tribute calling him kind, humble and “a beautiful soul”.
“He was kind, he was humble, he was gentle and he was brilliant . A maestro, as I always called him. Subbu will always remain one of the most loved and respected makeup artists in the country. He made me look beautiful every time he touched my face with his exceptional skills. And will be remembered for all the beautiful work he has left behind and all the lives he has touched. A wonderful son and brother and a beautiful soul has left us today. May you rest in peace Subbu,” she wrote.
Make-up artist Puneet Saini, and celebs such as Athiya Shetty and Aditi Rao Hydari also expressed their condolences in the comments.
In an interview with Vogue, Katrina Kaif credited Subbu with teaching her certain make-up skills. “There were so many conversations around it, and so many little moments that would register in my mind on what make-up can do to enhance your features. Gradually, I picked up on even the smaller nuances and learnt many techniques through the very talented make-up artist Subhash dada, who worked with me for a long time,” she said, talking about how she decided to create her own cosmetics line Kay Beauty.
On the work front, Anushka was last seen in 2018’s Zero. The actor has taken a hiatus from the big screen and was spotted accompanying husband Virat Kohli to the 2019 ICC Cricket World Cup and the West Indies series. The duo also visited Bhutan during Virat’s break. She is also producing a new Netflix original series Mai under banner of her production house Clean Slate Films.
