As the Kerala floods continue to wreak havoc on the state, more and more prominent personalities are donating to help those in need. Now it has come out that none other than Amitabh Bachchan has made a remarkable contribution towards the Chief Minister's Relief Fund through sound designer Resul Pookutty , who has been coordinating relief efforts.
According to the Hindustan Times, Amitabh has donated a whopping 51 lakhs to victims of the floods, along with 6 cartons of his personal clothes. The boxes included around 80 jackets, 25 pairs of pants, 20 shirts, 40 pairs of shoes and scarves.
In the past few days, many celebrities have raised awareness about the floods on social media and urged followers to help out the people of Kerala. These include Shah Rukh Khan, Anushka Sharma and Alia Bhatt.
Around 357 have died so far and the state faces a loss of Rs 19,512 crore due to the natural disaster. Rescue operations are still ongoing to evacuate stranded people in the flooded areas.
