Veere Di Wedding star Sonam Kapoor says her husband, businessman Anand Ahuja is her biggest cheerleader in life.
Sonam was speaking during the 35th Annual session of the FICCI Ladies Organisation (FLO) on Saturday in Delhi, where she touched upon the subjects of gender equality and how her husband supports her.
Sonam remarked that she has not always been treated as an equal with men in the film industry, but she doesn’t compromise. She added that Anand is her biggest supporter and has even taken on Sonam’s name as his own to prove his commitment to her ideals.
“In cinema world, I was not treated as an equal but treated as a woman. But I realised it soon that women should not compromise. But art is reflection of the society. After marriage, my husband is my cheerleader and and as a support he added my name in his middle name and has become Anand Sonam Ahuja,”Sonam Kapoor
Sonam, who married Anand last year, attended the session along with ace tennis star Sania Mirza.
Sonam was last seen in the role of a lesbian woman in Ek Ladki Ko Dekha Toh Aisa Laga along with father Anil Kapoor and Rajkummar Rao. She will next appear in romantic comedy The Zoya Factor opposite Dulquer Salmaan.
