Cricketer Hardik Pandya has been embroiled in controversy ever since his appearance on the latest episode of Koffee with Karan. Hardik even got flak from the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) for his allegedly misogynist statements on the show. Now, some internet sleuths have digged up an old clip of actor Ranveer Singh from an older season of Koffee with Karan, making what many are calling “sexist” remarks.

In the clip from 2011, Ranveer Singh is seen on the Koffee couch along with his Band Baaja Baaraat co-star Anushka Sharma. Two bits of the episode where Ranveer makes risque jokes about Anushka and Kareena Kapoor are going viral on social media, with many users criticising the Simmba star. "It's unfortunate that the bar has been set so low for stars and cricketers (cough "Pandya" cough)," one tweet said. "Still people will glorify them," another user replies.

While it can be argued that the clips are out of context, Ranveer is still receiving criticism for them. In one of the snippets, Anushka Sharma looks to be shocked by Ranveer's joke and snaps back, "You don't speak to me like that."

Ranveer is currently high on the success of Rohit Shetty’s Simmba and will next be seen in Zoya Akhtar’s Gully Boy opposite Alia Bhatt.
