Singer and music composer Adnan Sami recently released his music video, 'Alvida', after a hiatus of over two years. In an exclusive chat with The Quint, Sami spoke about whether he misses music videos, which are a rarity nowadays. "Times have changed. In the yesteryears, people were more experimental. Not just in India, but the amount of remakes and remixes being released have also increased in Hollywood. Everyone wants to try and play safe nowadays. As a result, more original and edgy content is not coming at the same quantity as it should".

Speaking about whether it concerns him that songs aren't becoming classics anymore Sami added,

"Yes, I am very concerned. Every generation has songs that they identify with. My father, when he was growing up, had his set of songs. We had our songs from the 80s, which are our identity. What is happening right now, is that a lot of songs that are being remade, the youth thinks those are their songs. You need to give this generation their own set of original songs. Don't deprive them of that".

Sami also weighed in on singer KK's tragic demise this year and the whole discussion around poorly-managed concerts in India. "It's most tragic that we lost such an incredible artiste like KK. It's all the more upsetting to learn that the incident may have occurred as a result of mismanagement of sorts. Through our contracts, we try our level best to ensure that a certain kind of decorum is in place for the artist".

"Out abroad, there are very strict laws in place when it comes to organising concerts. If a venue is meant for 5000 people, they will ensure that not a single extra soul will be permitted in the premises. In India, the laws aren't that strict".
