Abhishek Bachchan has successfully recovered from COVID-19. The actor took to social media to share the good news on 8 August.
He tweeted, "A promise is a promise! This afternoon I tested Covid-19 NEGATIVE!!! I told you guys I’d beat this. thank you all for your prayers for me and my family. My eternal gratitude to the doctors and nursing staff at Nanavati hospital for all that they have done. THANK YOU!"
He also took to Instagram to share a photo of a hospital white board with his details.
On 11 July, Abhishek Bachchan had taken to social media to announce that he and his father Amitabh Bachchan had contracted the novel coronavirus. He had tweeted, "Earlier today both my father and I tested positive for COVID 19. Both of us having mild symptoms have been admitted to hospital. We have informed all the required authorities and our family and staff are all being tested. I request all to stay calm and not panic. Thank you."
Amitabh Bachchan tested negative on 2 August and was discharged from the hospital.
On 12 July, Abhishek had announced that Aishwarya and Aaradhya had also contracted the virus. He tweeted ,"Aishwarya and Aaradhya have also tested COVID-19 positive. They will be self quarantining at home. The BMC has been updated of their situation and are doing the needful.The rest of the family including my Mother have tested negative. Thank you all for your wishes and prayers."
The mother and the daughter tested negative on 27 July and were sent home.
