Born to Lose, Lived to Win: Motorhead Lead Singer Lemmy Dies at 70

Original ‘legend of rock’ Lemmy of Motorhead has passed away at the age of 70, after suffering from cancer.

Lemmy Kilmister, lead singer of popular rock band Motorhead, passed away Monday evening local time after a short battle with an aggressive form of cancer. He was 70.

Lemmy – real name Ian Fraser Kilmister – was the founding and sole constant member Motorhead, formed in 1975, which sold over 15 million albums worldwide.

Lemmy’s death was announced by his bandmates on the group’s Facebook page. Fans have been asked to celebrate his life, true to Lemmy .
