Hariharan is the king of versatility. His eclectic singing styles range from Carnatic and Hindustani classical, to ghazals, pop and Bollywood numbers. Despite all his success, he believes that struggle is essential, because it stirs emotions and an understanding of life, which is required for one’s art to acquire a truly earthy flavour. On his birthday, here’s a jukebox of his best numbers, from his music video days with Leslie Lewis, to his romantic filmi numbers and soulful ghazals.
Hariharan gave some real gems - from Roja (1992), Bombay (1995), Taal (1999), to Hum Dil De Chuke Sanam (1999), Khamoshi (1996) and Lakshya (2004), and is still remembered for making ghazals look cool back in the early 90s with his signature music videos.
