Ajay and Saif Defy Gravity in Battle in ‘Tanhaji’ Trailer
The film releases on 10 January, 2020.
The makers of Tanhaji: The Unsung Warrior have released the trailer for the film. Directed by Om Raut and produced by Ajay Devgn, it sees Ajay and Kajol reunite on screen nine years after Toonpur Ka Super Hero.

Set in the 17th century, Tanhaji: The Unsung Warrior is based on the life of Tanhaji Malusare (Ajay), a military leader in the army of Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj. According to legend, he was enlisted by Shivaji to recapture the Kondana fort from the Mughals and managed to do so with the help of his pet monitor lizards. However, he lost his life in the battle – the Battle of Sinhagad – and Shivaji renamed the fort to Sinhagad (Lion Fort) in memory of his commander. Saif Ali Khan plays his rival, Udaybhan Rathod, a Rajput officer appointed by Mughul army chief Jai Singh, working under Aurangzeb.
Recently, the makers of Tanhaji - The Unsung Warrior released a new promo for the film. In the 12 -econd teaser, two unidentified people are standing the rain as one person slips a metal bracelet from the other person’s wrist to their own. The voiceover says, “Rishto ka farz ya mitti ka karz (the duty of relations or the duty of land)“

Ajay also took to Instagram to share the first look of Kajol as Savitribai Malusare. “Savitribai Malusare - Tanhaji ke saahas ka sahara... aur unke bal ki shakti,” Ajay wrote. Kajol is decked out in a saree, a mangalsutra and a Maharashtrian nose ring.
On 12 November, Akshay Kumar had unveiled a poster of Ajay Devgn from the film. Ajay completed 30 years in Bollywood, and Akshay penned a heartfelt note for his friend. “ We started our journey in this industry together...30 years ago. And I’ve seen your graph only grow from strength to strength. And as you are all set to mark your century with #TanhajiTheUnsungWarrior, I wish you nothing but lots of love and luck. Shine on my friend Ajay Devgn,” Akshay wrote.
