I woke up early to catch a show of the much awaited (traumatic) film, Student Of The Year 2 and like you guys, I didn’t have any expectations as such, but we faced a little something today. Here’s all I thought about the film:
1. It’s early morning, I have dressed up to match the ladies at Gurukul Premium. Have I curled my hair for this, you ask? Probably. #Insecurities
2. Okay, it has been ten minutes into the film and all they’re doing is ZoOoOoming into Tiger Shroff aka Rohan’s ABZ. I’m, um, uncomfortable... *heavy breathing*
3. Okay, Tara Sutaria aka Mridula aka Mia is in a fancy school and our boy Rohan isn’t. His life’s goal is to get her to love him again for which he will move from his poor school to Mia’s fancy one. (No one even bothers to video call me, lol)
4. They’re playing...SCHOOL WALA LOVE. Apparently they were childhood boos. He’s still not over it. The male ego, y’all.
5. Y’all remember the car drift scene from SOTY 1: The original horror(?) It is in this film too. Ananya Pandey aka Shreya aka spoilt school trustee’s daughter just made an entry, thought I’d let you know.
6. A development: Rohan got into the fancy school (Stalkers find their way) Now he’s literally parkour-ing his way to Mia to tell her that he’s going to be with her forever and ever and ever *vomit*
7. UM. This school has IPL style white cheerleaders. Actual. White. Women. Ho kya raha hai??????
8. In the meanwhile, he has fought with school trustee’s daughter aka Shreya AND been dumped by Mridulla. LMAO. Tough life.
9. Okay, a new development. Shreya’s brother Manav is SOTY from time immemorial. He’s also a hottie and Mia is ~cRuShInG~ on him. But she quickly changes sides and goes back to our hero Rohan, simply because he wins a race. Um. This girl is toxic. #ToxicMia
10. Shreya and Rohan got into a bit of a fight again and were taken to the Principal who called Shreya’s daddy. WHO IN TURN SMACKED HER ACROSS THE FACE Y’ALL. (We feel bad for her now, pretend to cry everyone).
11. Shreya has broken into a sad dance routine with some weird English lyrics. My eyes, they bleedeth.
12. AaaaaaaaaahhhhhhhhhhhhhhHHHHHHHH TOXIC MIA IS CHEATING ON OUR BOI ROHAN WITH MANAV (AKA SHREYA’S SIBLING) Mia is a cheater! cheater! cheater!
13. Rohan’s life is much like mine. Never does anything go right. He also got thrown out of college for punching Manav. Ngl, I am feeling for this kid.
14. OKAY - the film has an aim now. Tiger S or Rohan has gone back to PoorSchool and now is determined to make his school win AND also win the SOTY award which Manas gets EVERY year. BRAVE.
15. In the meanwhile, RichBratShreya (Ananya P) has become friends with our boy Rohan and is growing some of those FWEEELWINGS.
16. Side Note: Who is surprised? Did you really think they’d make the child of nepotism a bad character? Nuhhh bruv.
17. Rohan seems to be wooing her too. His idea of wooing her is throwing sand in her eyes. Okay, normal.
18. In a DRAMATIC turn of events, Toxic Mia is back and Rohan obviously goes back to her while our broken rich girl Shreya goes home to cry to her dog. Cute. #AllMen
19. In ANOTHER DRAMATIC turn of events, he is now telling Shreya he loves her but she says she’s not into him. So in turn he shrugs his shoulders and goes back to suckface with ToxicMia. This man REFUSES to be single.
20. THE DIGNITY CUP IS HERE. Thank god, this film is going to end soon. #SOS
21. I’d like to humbly point out that NO WOMEN take part in ANY of the school activities except dancing, for which too they need male partners. GREAT.
22. OKAY - he finally broke up with Toxic Mia and goes out looking for Shreya (remember when I said he is physically incapable of being single? I wasn’t kidding.)
23. IT IS THE FINAL MATCH. ANOTHER TEN MINUTES OF SEEING PEOPLE DEFY GRAVITY AND THEN WE CAN GO HOME!!!!!!! WOOOOOOOT!!!!!
24. You’d have never seen this coming, but guess what, poor school beat rich school and Rohan becomes Student of the Year. That was ONE UNPREDICTABLE FILM. Move over, Inception, make way for SOTY 2.
