The first motion poster of the upcoming Soorma has just been released, and it introduces Taapsee Pannu as athlete Harpreet aka Preet sporting an India jersey. The sports film is based on hockey legend Sandeep Singh, which will be played by Udtaa Punjab singer-actor Diljit Dosanjh.

Sandeep Singh, a former captain of the Indian national hockey team was paralysed and wheelchair bound for 2 years after an accidental gunshot injured him in 2006. Soorma revolves around Singh’s comeback into the game despite his debilitating injury. The film’s tagline is “The Greatest Comeback Story of the Hockey Legend Sandeep Singh”.
Soorma also stars Angad Bedi, and the biopic is being produced by Sony Pictures Networks India Pvt Ltd. It will release on 13 July.
