‘Soorma’ Box Office: Diljit Dosanjh Film Is Doing Steady Business

The Taapsee Pannu and Diljit Dosanjh-starrer Soorma might have gotten off to a slow start, but business has been steady with the film raking in Rs 17.79 crore in five days. The Sandeep Singh biopic produced by Chitrangada Singh has held its own against the juggernaut that’s Sanju.

On day 1, Soorma raked in Rs 3.25 crore.

It is Diljit Dosanjh’s regional stardom that is drawing the audience to cinema houses in the northern parts of the country. The singer-actor has previously been celebrated for his roles in Udta Punjab and Phillauri.

A biopic, Soorma, starring Diljit Dosanjh as Sandeep Singh, tells the story of an impossible feat. The film tells the story of East Indian field hockey player Sandeep Singh who made a comeback after a gunshot wound left him bound to a wheelchair.
