On Sunday a report in a major daily claimed that actor Aamir Khan had played a instumental role in saving the life of sound designer Shajith Koyeri, with whom he had worked on 2016’s Dangal. According to the report, Shajith was left unattended by the doctors and staff of Bandra's Lilavati hospital after suffering a stroke. Shajith’s family members contacted Aamir Khan, who had him shifted to Kokilaben Dhirubhai Ambani Hospital in Andheri where he receive medical assistance. The report was shared by multiple news outlets.
However Shajith has now posted a statement on Twitter, condemning the report and asking the media not to sensationalise a private matter. The letter says that Shajith was satisfied with the service at Lilavati hospital and the decision to shift to Kokilaben was due to his personal physician being there.
Shajith further added, “Those friendships and what we do for each other are extremely personal and private.”
Earlier, the doctors at Lilavati had denied the allegations in the report as well. As of now, there is no comment from Aamir Khan or the newspaper.
Shajith has received a National Film Awards for his work in Omkara along with two Filmfare and two IIFA Awards. Aamir will next be seen in Thugs of Hindostan.
