Though it has not been officially announced, Shah Rukh is set to play Indian astronaut Rakesh Sharma in Saare Jahaan Se Achha. He bagged the role on Aamir’s recommendation.
In an interview with Deccan Chronicle, Shah Rukh said,
“I thank Aamir [Khan] who was to do the film for calling me and telling me about the role as it would suit me. Whenever I get the time, I will try and spend time with him (Rakesh Sharma).”
The project reportedly would be partially bankrolled by Reliance head honcho Mukesh Ambani.
Aamir Khan’s passion project Mahabharata, reportedly a Rs 1000 crore dream is in the works. In a DNA interview, Shah Rukh Khan revealed that Aamir is indeed adapting the epic to screen. When the Zero star was asked about a role on his wish list, he picked Krishna in Mahabharata but he let it slip that Aamir Khan is set to essay the role of Krishna and hence it would remain a pipe dream.
