The first poster for Rishi Kapoor’s upcoming film Jhootha Kahin Ka has been released. The film is reportedly a family entertainer that takes its name from the actor’s 1979 movie of the same name, which also starred Neetu Kapoor. Directed by Smeep Kang, it also stars Omkar Kapoor, Sunny Singh, Jimmy Shergill, Lillette Dubey and Manoj Joshi. Set to premiere on 19 July, Jhootha Kahin Ka will be Rishi’s first film to release in theatres after he took a hiatus last September to undergo treatment of cancer.

Jhootha Kahin Ka is reportedly a family entertainer about two boys who go to Mauritius to study and love it so much, they are reluctant to come back home. Rishi Kapoor plays Omkar Kapoor’s father who turns up to surprise the boys only to catch them in a web of lies.

Rishi Kapoor was last seen in Leena Yadav’s Rajma Chawal, which released on Netflix in October last year. In September 2018, Rishi announced that he would be taking a break from work to address “45 years of wear and tear”. He and his wife Neetu Kapoor have been stationed in New York, where he has been undergoing treatment for cancer. Several well-wishers from the Indian film industry, including Priyanka Chopra, Vicky Kaushal, Alia Bhatt and Rajkumar Hirani, have paid him a visit. In May this year, Rishi told Deccan Chronicle that he was “cancer-free”. In an interview to Mumbai Mirror in June, he said that he was “recovering well” and would try and return to India by the end of August.
