Zoya Akhtar's Gully Boy, starring Ranveer Singh, Alia Bhatt and Kalki Koechlin had its world premiere at the 69th Berlin International Film Festival. The Central Board of Film Certification (CBFC) has trimmed a kissing scene between Ranveer Singh and Alia Bhatt and also muted some swear words in the film.

The film has been granted a U/A certification after the cuts. The CBFC also removed the name of a liquor brand at the beginning of the film.
