Filmmaker Rakeysh Omprakash Mehra welcomes birthday boy Rajkummar Rao onboard his next production titled Fanney Khan, in a tweet also revealing his co-stars – Aishwarya Rai Bachchan, Anil Kapoor and Divya Dutta. The filmmaker also asked fans and his cast to tighten their seat belts for the roller coaster ride.
Fanney Khan is reportedly an official remake of the Oscar nominated Dutch film Everybody's Famous. The film will be directed by Atul Manjrekar.
Mehra recently trashed a previous report claiming that R Madhavan had been cast in the lead role opposite Aishwarya Rai Bachchan.
According to a Mumbai Mirror report, Rao met Aishwarya recently at the Melbourne International Film Festival, where he was being awarded the Best Actor award for Trapped. Talking about his gorgeous co-star and Mehra’s upcoming project, Rajkummar Rao said,
She’s the most beautiful woman in the world. It’s a great story, there’s a lot of love and the content is not just entertaining but detailed and different. There will be lots of workshops and readings once I am back. I can’t reveal much about the character.Rajkummar Rao, Actor (as reported by Mumbai Mirror)
Arjun N Kapoor of KriArj Entertainment revealed that Aishwarya and Anil are already prepping for their roles and as thorough professionals, they do not interfere in the process of casting for other roles. Mehra earlier told IANS that Fanney Khan will take on body-shaming in a big way. Rao also shared a picture of the most special birthday gift he received, from Amitabh Bachchan himself.
