After the chart-busting Mere Rashke Qamar, the duo Ajay Devgn and Ilean D’Cruz are back together in yet another melodious song by Rahat Fateh Ali Khan. The earlier version was a recreation and so is this. Reworked by Tanishq Bagchi from the original (Nusrat Fateh Ali Khan),the song exudes an agreeably old-school Bollywood romance.
The song and its picturisation weave a gossamer of quiet longing.
Directed by Raj Kumar Gupta, the film is based on a true story and revolves around the longest raid conducted by the fearless Deputy Commissioner of Income Tax, Amay Patnaik, in 1981 Lucknow. Ajay Devgn seems formidable in the trailer as an upright government officer, a character he has essayed often and perfected.
