There has been a lot of buzz around Kabir Singh, since it’s trailer dropped and now that it has hit the theatres, people have been rushing to catch the film to enjoy the chemistry between Shahid Kapoor and Kiara Advani.
The film opened to mixed reviews by the public. While some fans are all praise for Shahid’s portrayal of the character, going to the extent of calling it the actor’s best performance so far, some are even criticizing the misogynistic storyline. Comparisons with the original film Arjun Reddy, are also affecting the public reactions, as they say that the original character was more powerful. The pair’s chemistry has also been stealing hearts, especially paired with the music of the film.
The critics have quite opposite views on the film, as they all call out the misogynist and womanizing character of Kabir Singh. However, Director Karan Johar has given it an enthusiastic thumbs up. He took to Instagram to share praise for the film saying that it is about “manic, relentless and reckless love and the experience of viewing the film is exactly the same!” He added, “It’s relentless in its narrative leaves you reckless in emotion and you find yourself Manicly rooting for Kabir’s unabashed love for Preeti! This modern Ode to Devdas leaves you spellbound!”
